On July 8, 2021, Zaila Avant-garde made history as the first Black American champion and the first champion from Louisiana. She twirled her way into the hearts of millions and had some cool opportunities following her big win with the word “Murraya.”

The 2021 Victory Tour
After winning with flair, Zaila began a coast-to-coast media tour, including stops at Live with Kelly and Ryan and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Over the next year, she was a guest of host Anthony Mackie at The ESPYS, the recipient of the Stan Musial Award for Extraordinary Character and a featured speaker with Dr. Durnil at SXSW Edu.
