Melanie enjoys collecting books and reading. An accomplished violist, she plays in a chamber group and is a
member of the Grand Forks Junior Symphony. She also plays piano and sings. Stiltwalking is one of her
favorite free-time activities. Melanie’s sister Karen participated in the 2000 national finals, and her sister
Hannah participated in the 2003 national finals.
