The National Association of Gifted Children named Ashwini the Illinois state winner of the 2003 Nicholas Green Distinguished
Student Award. She is a member of her school's student council, art club, and Spanish club. She enjoys writing poetry. She plays
viola and is a member of a regional honors orchestra. Ashwini participated in the 2003 national finals.
